Having reopened its doors in late 2013, the historic building has had a brand new lease of life.
Hackney Venues is a collection of some of the most sought after spaces in east London, including the Hackney Town Hall. Featuring two beautifully restored Art-Deco town halls, an eighteenth century mansion house, a former water pumping station, a state-of-the-art conference venue and a RIBA award-winning sporting centre, Hackney Venues has a space to offer any event from conferences and receptions to wedding celebrations and private parties.
Playing host to the Brides of Culture Event in March, Hackney Town Hall offers sumptuous grandeur for weddings, receptions and parties in a sought after Art-Deco style. These spaces have recently been re-launched after an extensive refurbishment. Many of the original features were saved during an eighteen month project which saw considerable investment in returning the Assembly Halls to their former glory. As part of a wider redevelopment of the Town Hall, it meant that the main function rooms, which hadn’t been used by external clients for over three years, could once again be enjoyed by local residents and those clients wishing to hold weddings and parties.
The graceful curved staircase leads to the beautifully restored Assembly Hall with a vast array of original features including the imposing 1930s chandeliers and original sprung dance floor. The Hall is suitable for a variety of events and has the option of hosting both wedding ceremonies and celebrations providing a whole day’s experience in one venue. Accommodating up to 550 standing for a reception or 300 for a dinner, the large main space can then be broken down into three smaller rooms, with the original floor-to-ceiling partitions, great for hosting more intimate events. The adjoining Bridgetown Bar, decorated in dark wood and marble fixtures, evokes the feel of an exclusive gentlemen’s club.
Excellent AV support, along with dedicated events management is included in the hire cost, both elements ensuring a professionally run event and memorable day.
Searching for the perfect wedding venue can be very daunting. Have you considered your budget and the size of the venue you need? Considering our typically large family, extended family, friends and friends of friends, you will need a venue that can take them all under one roof. Alternatively, if you are planning a more intimate affair, the size of the venue is still important, as it will need to house everyone comfortably, but not so big that there is an echo!
